The Department of Finance was set up in Ajman in the year 2010 . To be the central competent authority in the emirate for taking over and disposing the financial affairs human resources affairs , overcoming and prevailing the administrative and organizational resolutions issued by the Department over all the above mentioned affairs -related resolutions which are being issued by any of the governmental departments of Ajman government.

 Field of specialization of the department

  • To prepare drafts of the local laws and decrees relating to the financial affairs that the Department considers the need to be applied by the government departments, or by any specific government department and supervise the implementation thereof, and periodically review all local legislations relating to the applicable financial affairs and submit the recommendations to the relevant authorities to update the same, from time to time.
  • To prepare long-and short-term strategic plans, relating to the competences of the Department and supervise the implementation thereof, according to a specific methodology.
  • To prepare a draft of the general budget of the Government of Ajman in co-operation and co-ordination with all government departments, and take the necessary measures for approving the same in accordance with the standard financial system of the Government of the Emirate, and supervise the implementation thereof, and monitor withdrawal there from after approving the same.
  • To prepare a draft of the annual general final account of the government in co-operation and co-ordination with all government departments and take the necessary measures for approving the same in accordance with the standard financial system of the Government of the Emirate.
  • To prepare the periodic data and standard financial reports of the Government of Ajman in a timely manner in accordance with the standard financial system of the Government of the Emirate.
  • To organize the government accounting rules, and issue the instructions required for applying the same by the government departments and supervise the implementation thereof.
  • To supervise the bank accounts of the government departments.
  • To Manage the general reserve account of the Government of the Emirate.
  • To supervise the general revenues of the Government of the Emirate and follow-up collection thereof.
  • To provide consultancies and technical support to the government departments in the areas of the applications of the standard financial system of the Government of the Emirate.
  • To review the agreements that the Government of Ajman or any of the government departments shall be a party thereof for ensuring the safety of its provisions and conditions and negotiate with the parties of such agreements if the subject of the agreement within the tasks and competences of the Department or if the public interest requires the Department to participate in the relevant negotiations.
  • To prepare and review the economic feasibility studies for the government projects or in which the government shall contribute by a portion in its capital and to perform researches and studies in the different subjects within the competences of the Department.
  • To represent the government of the Emirate in conferences and committees relating to the financial matters inside or outside the UAE.
  • Any competences assigned to the Department pursuant to any other law, decree or amiri resolution.
